What is Cyperus Papyrus?

Cyperus papyrus, commonly known as papyrus, is a plant native to the Mediterranean. This elegant and decorative tropical swamp plant is known for forming dense clusters of bright green filiform leaves at the end of its stems. It can reach impressive heights of over six feet, making it a stunning choice for adding height and elegance to any interior.

The preserved version of Cyperus papyrus eliminates these maintenance concerns. When preserved, this plant retains its vibrant green color and original shape without the need for water, sunlight or regular maintenance. This makes it an ideal choice for decorating indoor spaces where maintaining live plants would be difficult or impractical.

How to keep preserved papyrus cyperus in good condition?

• Avoid any action that may crush, press or bend foliage, petals and flowers.
• Avoid direct or indirect exposure to sunlight.
• Avoid the presence of intense sources of indirect light, including those behind glass or similar surfaces.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to environments with humidity levels above 50%.
• Avoid continuous exposure to temperatures exceeding 30°C.

Production and preservation process

1. Selection and Preparation: We carefully select the Cyperus Papyrus stems to ensure they are in optimal condition.
2. Preservative treatment: The preservative and colorant (50% glycerin + water + colorants) are applied by the absorption method, immersing the lower part of the stems in the liquid. After 24 to 36 hours, when the preservative is completely absorbed, the product can go to the next stage.
3. Drying: The product enters the drying station at a higher temperature and lower percentage of ambient humidity where it remains for 24 to 48 hours.
4. Inspection and packaging: Finally, we remove damaged and wilted leaves and select only the best, healthiest, most attractive stems and carefully package them to protect them during transportation and storage.
