What is the Alisier?

The Rowan tree, also known as Alisier (in french), is a deciduous shrub native to Europe and Asia, and its autumnal beauty is enchanting. Its leaves, which in autumn turn a palette of vibrant colours from golden yellow to deep red, bring warmth and nostalgia.

Fresh Rowan has a soft, velvety texture to the touch, with fine, delicate leaves. Its fragrance is subtle and fruity, reminiscent of apple and pear. The colour palette of Rowan in autumn is spectacular, ranging from pale yellow to deep orange, orangey red to burgundy. This explosion of colour makes Rowan a unique and striking decorative element.

Preserved Rowan retains the natural essence of the tree’s branches, but with a longer life. A preservation process stops the passage of time and preserves the shape, colour and texture for years. To the eye, preserved Rowan is virtually indistinguishable from fresh Rowan. Its leaves retain their vibrant shape and colour, adding the same touch of warmth and nostalgia to any interior. The texture is slightly firmer to the touch, but still soft and pleasant. The fragrance, while more subtle than Fresh Rowan, retains the fruity notes that characterise it.

Rowan durability

Under normal conditions and with care, a cut branch of natural Rowan can last for several months before it begins to dry out and deteriorate. Although this is a long time, the preserved version is much more resistant.

The preserved version is specifically designed to last and does not require any special maintenance. The preservation process allows the Rowan to retain its structural and aesthetic integrity for many years.

How do you keep preserved Rowan in good condition?

• Avoid any action that may crush, press or bend foliage, petals and flowers.
• Avoid direct or indirect exposure to sunlight.
• Avoid the presence of intense sources of indirect light, including those behind glass or similar surfaces.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to environments with humidity levels above 50%.
• Avoid continuous exposure to temperatures exceeding 30°C.
• The use of these elements is recommended for indoor use only.

Production and preservation process

1. Selection and preparation: Rowan stalks are carefully selected to ensure they are in optimum condition.
2. Preservative treatment: The preservative and colorant (50% glycerin + water + colorants) are applied by the absorption method, immersing the lower part of the stems in the liquid. After 24 to 36 hours, when the preservative has been totally absorbed, the product can pass to the next phase.
3. Drying: The product passes to the drying station with a higher temperature and a lower percentage of ambient humidity where it will remain for 24 to 48 hours.
4. Inspection and packaging: Finally, we remove damaged and wilted leaves and select only the best, healthiest and most attractive stems, and carefully pack it to protect it during transportation and storage.

We carefully control the entire process. From the care and treatment of the plants, the specific manual selection of the specimens that present the best conditions, the preservation process, to the packaging and transport through our own transport service Verdnatura.

Before packaging, each plant is subjected to a final inspection. We check the integrity of the plant’s structure, flexibility and overall appearance. In addition, the plants are carefully packed to avoid damage during transport and we use packaging materials that protect the plants from moisture and shocks.

Finally, we collect and analyze feedback from florists and other customers to identify areas for improvement in our production and preservation processes and implement continuous improvements based on this feedback to ensure that our plants maintain the highest quality.
