What is ivy?

Ivy is a climbing plant found in many parts of the world, from Europe to North America. Its leaves are small and evergreen and can be different shades of green or even mixed colours. It is widely used in gardens because its strong, clinging roots allow it to grow on walls and trees.

Preserved ivy has important advantages over fresh ivy. It does not need water or direct sunlight to stay green and fresh for a long time, making it perfect for places with little light or where plants are difficult to care for. In addition, preserved ivy can be dyed in a variety of colours, making it very versatile and useful for decorating different rooms in a creative and personal way.

Durability of ivy

In general, preserved ivy will retain its original appearance and colour for at least 2 to 3 years, and in some cases can last even longer.

How do you keep preserved ivy in good condition?

• Avoid any action that may crush, press or bend foliage, petals and flowers.
• Avoid direct or indirect exposure to sunlight.
• Avoid the presence of intense sources of indirect light, including those behind glass or similar surfaces.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to environments with humidity levels above 50%.
• Avoid continuous exposure to temperatures exceeding 30°C.
• The use of these elements is recommended for indoor use only.

Production and preservation process

1. Selection and preparation: We carefully select the ivy stems to ensure they are in optimum condition.
2. Preservative treatment: The preservative and colorant (50% glycerin + water + colorants) are applied by the absorption method, immersing the lower part of the stems in the liquid. After 24 to 36 hours, when the preservative is completely absorbed, the product can go to the next stage.
3. Drying: The product enters the drying station at a higher temperature and lower percentage of ambient humidity where it remains for 24 to 48 hours.
4. Inspection and packaging: Finally, we remove damaged and wilted leaves and select only the best, healthiest, most attractive stems and carefully package them to protect them during transportation and storage.
