Cupressus goldcrest ‘Wilma’ is an ornamental cypress native to Monterey, California, known for its pleasant lemony fragrance and compact, yellowish-green foliage. Conical in shape and sensitive to cold and wind, this cypress is widely used for ornamental purposes, especially in pots, due to its small height and wider growth than other varieties. Its aesthetic appearance, with yellow leaves and conical shape, makes it ideal for adding a touch of color.

Although Cupressus Goldcrest ‘Wilma’ can reach a height of 4-5 metres and a diameter of 3-4 metres, in warm climates it requires moist soil and is prone to disease, requiring 3-4 annual systemic treatments.

Production and preservation process

1. Selection and Preparation: We carefully select the stems of Cupressus Goldcrest Wilma to ensure they are in optimal condition.
2. Preservative treatment: The preservative and colorant (50% glycerin + water + colorants) are applied by the absorption method, immersing the lower part of the stems in the liquid. After a period of 24 to 36 hours, when the preservative has been completely absorbed, the product can be passed on to the next stage.
3. Drying: The product enters the drying station at a higher temperature and lower percentage of ambient humidity where it remains for 24 to 48 hours.
4. Inspection and packaging: Finally, we remove damaged and wilted leaves and select only the best, healthiest, most attractive stems and carefully package them to protect them during transportation and storage.
